World Youth Day (WYD) is the gathering of young people from all over the world with the Pope. It is also a pilgrimage, a celebration of youth, an expression of the universal Church and an intense moment of evangelisation for the youth world.
For more than 30 years, World Youth Day has been an opportunity for the world's young people to go on pilgrimage and discover how Jesus calls each of us to be his disciples.
World Youth Day 2023 will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, in August 2023. The significant events of World Youth Day include the Papal welcome, catechesis, youth festivals, the final pilgrim walk and vigil with Pope Francis and millions of other young Catholics.
The theme for this year is "Mary arose and went with haste" (Lk 1:39)
The Diocese of Sale is organising groups of young people
