2024-2025
Holy Spirit of Wind and Fire, come!
Startle us anew with your power and energy.
Blow fresh life through our tired dreams.
Fan into a flame the gifts you have given us.
Light up the windows of our joy and purpose.
Spark bright fires of optimism deep within us.
Reveal more clearly a vision of what is possible.
May we listen attentively
to your quiet whisper at our very core.
May we discern your call
expressed in the voices and stories of others.
May we build a Church
that radiates and nourishes our unity of faith.
May we be at one with all of humanity
and the rest of God’s creation.
May we develop the courage to be people of mission,
alert to opportunities,
always on the move,
bringing Good News to our needy world,
Wind and Fire for one another.
Amen.

The Jubilee Prayer
Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.
May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.
May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever.
Amen

FOR THE CRY OF THE EARTH
We pray that each one of us will hear and take to heart the cry of the Earth and of victims of natural disasters and climactic change, and that all will undertake to personally care for the world in which we live.
Safeguarding Sunday
Presider: Conscious that each person is precious in the eyes of the Lord, let us place our prayers before God who is kind and merciful, and rich in compassion.
For our community: that we have the strength to stand in solidarity with victims of abuse, the humility to come to terms with the sinful crimes of the past and the patience to stop and listen to children and the vulnerable.
Let us pray to the Lord
R: Lord, hear our prayer
For families: that they may grow stronger and more resilient in their love and care for one another so that children are raised in safe and nurturing environments.
Let us pray to the Lord
R: Lord, hear our prayer
For parents, carers, relatives, friends, mentors, teachers, coaches and other adults: that they may always follow the example of Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, by treating children, young people and all vulnerable people with proper respect and care.
Let us pray to the Lord
R: Lord, hear our prayer
For those whose lives have been traumatised through abuse: that they may find the courage to share their story and to find lasting peace and healing.
Let us pray to the Lord
R: Lord, hear our prayer
For children in our parishes: that we may all work collaboratively to ensure the happiness and confidence of every child, support them to raise their voices and be heard, and to foster an environment of safety and protection where children flourish.
Let us pray to the Lord
R: Lord, hear our prayer
For Church leaders, especially Pope Francis, Bishop ________, Leaders of Religious Congregations, lay leaders of Church organisations and all entrusted with ministry and pastoral care in the Church: that they will continue to help build stronger faith communities where children and adults at risk are empowered and listened to.
Let us pray to the Lord
R: Lord, hear our prayer
For our community as it seeks to follow the example of Christ and the teachings of his Church: that we will work to ensure that policies and procedures are implemented to protect children, young people and the vulnerable in our society.
Let us pray to the Lord
R: Lord, hear our prayer
Presider: Gracious and loving God, source of all truth, justice and healing, we implore you to hear the prayers we offer and to look favourably on the pleas of your people. We ask this through Christ our Lord. All: Amen.

Social Justice Statement 2024-25 - Office For Justice, Ecology and Peace (catholic.org.au)
This prayer service is designed to mark the Season of Creation (1st Sept - 4th Oct). The zip file contains both the prayer service PDF and an accompanying PowerPoint presentation. The resource also includes ideas for creating an interactive prayer space, inspired by Laudato Si' and suitable for small or large congregations or parish groups.
The Season of Creation is fast approaching. It’s a time to renew our relationship with our Creator and all creation through celebration, conversion, and commitment together. During the Season of Creation, we join our sisters and brothers in the ecumenical family in prayer and action for our common home.
As you’re no doubt aware, the season starts 1 September, World Day of Prayer for Creation, and ends 4 October, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology beloved by many Christian denominations. Throughout the month-long celebration, the world’s 2.2 billion Christians come together to care for our common home.
It’s a wonderful opportunity for Earthcare Parishes to promote and celebrate their Earthcare journey with their wider community – a great opportunity for moving forward, particularly on the Goals of Ecological Education and Ecological Spirituality.
The Season of Creation Celebration Guide has just been launched. You can download it at EN_Celebration Guide_Season of Creation.pdf - Google Drive
