Feast of St. Francis of Assisi Celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Morwell

The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi was celebrated with great devotion at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Morwell. A Solemn Mass in Italian was led by Bishop Gregory Bennet and Fr. James, organised by the Italian Catholic Federation. The event drew a large gathering of parishioners, reflecting the deep community ties to this cherished tradition.

The celebration included a procession inside the church, featuring a statue of St. Francis and followed by Benediction. The Latrobe City Brass Band accompanied the procession, adding a festive and reverent touch with their music, creating a memorable atmosphere for all in attendance.

Following the spiritual celebration, the community came together for a fellowship gathering at the Sacred Heart School Hall, offering an opportunity to connect and share in the joy of the day. The event beautifully blended tradition, faith, and community spirit, honouring the life and teachings of St. Francis of Assisi.
