Catechists met for their annual gathering on Tuesday (March 10) in Warragul. The day was attended by seventeen Catechists from throughout the diocese.
The morning session on ‘Prayer ‘was led by Mike Hansen, a member of the Gaudium et Spes Plenary Council team and educator from Lavalla Catholic College in Traralgon.
Mass was held in the Chapel at Sion House with Bishop Patrick O’Regan celebrating.
Barbara Durand, Catechist Co-ordinator said in the afternoon the Catechist received up to date information on Child Protection and Safety.
A session led by Parish Safeguarding and Professional Standards Officer, Dr Angela Lecomber from the Diocese, included a presentation with time for question and answers. This session was an important part of the Cathechists learning opportunities for the day. The group also had time to network about their work in parishes and catch-up socially over lunch.
